“13 Reasons Why” actress to star in series about addictive love

Actress Katherine Langford (“13 Reasons Why”) will star in the series “The Venery of Samantha Bird”, developed for the American pay channel Starz.

Created by Anna Moriarty, the series will follow Samantha Bird (Langford) as she visits family in New England, reconnects with an old boyfriend and starts a new romance.

The purpose of the series is to explore addictive love and the repercussions that a relationship has on families in a small town.

“‘The Venery of Samantha Bird’ is the perfect addition to our roster of provocative and immersive stories that lean towards the female gaze,” said Kathryn Busby, President of Original Programming at Starz. “Katherine is an incredible talent who will bring this modern romance about addictive love to life.”

“The Venery of Samantha Bird” will be produced by Moriarty and Salvatore Stabile (“Waco”), who will also serve as showrunner for the attraction. The series will have eight episodes and does not yet have a premiere date.

After the end of “13 Reasons Why”, Katherine Langford starred in “Cursed: The Legend of the Lake”, which was canceled after one season on Netflix, and recorded the miniseries “Savage River” for Australian TV, which ends on ABC. next Sunday (9/10).
