The runway at Des Moines International Airport has been temporarily reopened after a closure due to an emergency landing. The airport posted on Facebook just before 11, where it said crews were working as quickly as possible to reopen the runway. Just before noon, the airport announced that the runway was reopened and operations were back to normal. According to airport staff, an “Alert 3” was issued for a Mooney plane with two people on board at 9:50. The pilot landed on the belly of the aircraft, disabling the aircraft. Both people in the plane walked away safely.
