Yes, you can respect your character in Baldur’s Gate 3

Baldur’s Gate 3 will allow players to re-spec their characters and create “multi-classes” to “avoid having to restart the entire game”.

That’s according to Larian’s Nick Pechenin, who confirmed in a recent livestream that as well as bumping into a character that “will allow you to reset your class and reinvest all your levels,” players can also explore some “really cool “multiclass combinations.”

“We wanted to avoid players having to restart the entire game because it’s a very heavy narrative experience,” said Pechenin (thanks PC gamer). “There is a character you might meet – you most likely will meet – who will allow you to reset your class and reinvest all the levels.”

As for the “multiple classes”?

“In multiclassing, there are a lot of really cool combos, there are some combos that don’t quite work, and we want players to really experiment with what’s possible,” Pechenin added. “And respect really helps with that.”

Baldur’s Gate 3 will be released for PC on August 3rd and PlayStation 5 on September 6th, while the Xbox version will take a little longer after problems getting split-screen co-op to work well on the Xbox Series S.

Did you know that Maggie Robertson, the actress who played the iconic Lady Dimitrescu in Resident Evil Village, will play another memorable villain, this time in Baldur’s Gate 3?

Bertie will bring you deeper impressions of what he played at the BG3 event (including the PS5 version) next week, along with an interview with Larian boss Swen Vincke. For now though, make sure you catch the full Larian Panel from Hell for the latest public look at the game.
