The esports tournament organizer ESL Gaming has announced a new tournament for 2023, the Intel Extreme Masters Brazil 2023 (IEM Brazil 2023).
The event, which will take place in April 2023, will have 16 teams and a $250,000 prize. The victory of the IEM Brazil will contribute to the Intel Grand Slamlike the rest of the IEM events.
The new Brazil tournament was hinted at by ESL Gaming at the end of 2022, after a successful IEM Rio Major 2022, the first Major in South America.
As a result, ESL Gaming revealed that he IEM Brazil will occupy the place previously announced for the Spring IEM. The tournament organizer has decided to return to the country, after the positive response from the fans and the good audience numbers at the Major. The IEM Rio Major was the third most watched Major in history.
The host city for IEM Brasil 2023 has not been revealed, so ESL Gaming urges fans to be patient and wait for the official release, with more details coming in the coming weeks and months.

The qualifiers for the next tournament will take place in January and February 2023starting with the Open Qualifiers in January Y ending with Closed Qualifiers in early February. Playoffs will be held for Europe, North America, South America and Asia. In addition, the company plans reveal the teams who will be directly invited January 16.
