There is no doubt that the Fortnite battle royale is an extremely successful title, but if there is something that Epic Games has done to nurture its community, it has been to give them the creative mode. This mode has allowed very interesting creations and soon we will receive even more options, as Epic Games is preparing the launch of Fortnite Creative 2.0.
Thanks to Fortnite’s creative mode it is possible to create and play a large number of game modes made by the community, some of which are promoted by Epic Games when they are really good. The new Unreal Editor for Fortnite or Creative 2.0 allows us to design, develop and publish game experiences directly from Fortnite.
This week the official Fortnite Creators account announced the release date for the Fortnite Unreal Editor, which will be available starting on Wednesday March 22, 2023 and can now be added to the Epic Games Store wishlist. The Fortnite Creative 2.0 or Unreal Editor for Fortnite (UEFN) has many Unreal Engine 5 tools and workflows that will be available to its users for free.
“You will have many options to produce and publish games and experiences in Fortnite that can be enjoyed by millions of players.s”, is what Epic Games promises in its publication that accompanied the announcement of the UEFN release date. On the Epic Games Store page we can see that the Fortnite Unreal Editor works in parallel with the Fortnite Creative mode toolset.
It is also confirmed that teams of content creators will be able to work together on PC and console to develop and test islands in real time, increasing the development capabilities of the UEFN. With this update, Fortnite seeks to become a new development center for players who want to experiment with creating video games, which could bring very interesting proposals to the public.
