United States.- Epic Games announced that Fortnite will go through a brief downtime starting at 4AM ET. The downtime will last for an hour, implementing a patch that will fix some recently discovered issues with the Shockwave Hammer. Several fans on Reddit, including the user of reddit kaseius, they figured out a way to use the weapon to exploit the fishing mechanic and farm large amounts of healing items.
kaseius shared the exploit with a video on Reddit, showing them switching between their fishing rod and Shockwave Hammer. They cast their fishing lure several times into the water before summoning their shockwave hammer to break the ground. After hitting the hammer, various items will come out of the water.
Other players have reported that they can bounce using the shockwave hammer multiple times without the cooldown going on. The Shockwave Hammer he was promptly removed from the game due to the exploits. Epic Games did not confirm if the weapon will return after the next patch, however, the leaker of Fortnite Hypex He has said that he will return.

Fortnite often removes or cancels certain features due to bugs and other issues. Epic Games had to disable the Deku Smash weapon due to photosensitivity issues.
