There are many games that allow players to access their development engine and create content to share with the community, as is the case with Roblox. And now we know that the next to join this list will be the popular battle royale Fortnite and Epic Games publisher Unreal Engine.
Epic Games has announced one of the biggest revolutions in Fortnite: Unreal Editor for Fortnite (UEFN), a new free PC application that will allow players to design, develop and publish games and experiences within Fortnite.
This adaptation of Unreal Engine 5 will allow the import of custom resources, modeling, materials and visual effects (VFX), Sequencer and control rig, offering a world of options to develop and publish games and experiences that can play millions of players around the world.
Also debuting is the new Verse programming language, which Epic Games notes “offers powerful customization capabilities, such as device tampering or chaining and the ability to easily create new game logic.”
The tool will be integrated with the Creative Mode of Fortnite, released in the year 2018and teams of creators will be able to collaborate on PC and Console to develop and test islands in real time.
Unreal Editor for Fortnite (UEFN) It will be available from next March 22coinciding with the Epic Games conference at the Game Developer Conference 2023 developer event, which will take place in San Francisco between March 20 and 24, 2023.
