Managing your passwords for your online gaming accounts is very important for a multitude of reasons. Of course, you want access to your favorite content and things you’ve purchased, but it’s also important to keep your information safe and out of reach of strangers who would try to take what they can from you. Since Riot Games has issues from time to time when it comes to security, it’s important to know how to change your Riot account password when necessary. Here is how to do it.

Where to change your League of Legends password if you remember it
If you remember your League of Legends password, you can change it instantly by going to your Riot Account Management page. If all you’re looking to do is ensure your security after the recent hacking incident, this will probably be the best way to go.
Near the top of the page, under your personal information, there will be a section to enter your current password and what you want to change. Remember that your new password must be at least eight characters long, must have at least one letter and no letters, and must pass Riot’s “Okay” strength rating.
Where to change your League of Legends password if you forgot it
If you have forgotten what your password is to enter your Riot account, you can go to the Recovery page on the Riot website to enter your username. As long as you enter it correctly, the email address you have on file will receive a message similar to the following.
Click the link in this email to go to a new page where you can choose a new password. If you don’t see the email, be sure to check your spam folder and also make sure you enter your username correctly. If you still can’t find it, please contact Riot Support at the link at the bottom of the username page.
