Two-factor authentication is a useful tool to make sure that no one can access your account and information on various online services. League of Legends has been around long enough to see a lot of people come and go, and with that kind of user base, there are going to be people trying to access your information. With that in mind, it’s a good idea to set up two-factor authentication and have it ready so you can protect yourself when someone tries to access your account. Here is how to do it.

Fortunately, getting your Two Factor Authentication to work is really simple and will only take a few minutes. First, go to your Riot Account Management page and log in. Scroll down near the bottom of the page. Just above Login Management is the two-factor authentication area. If you’re worried about someone accessing your information after the recent Riot attack, it’s a good idea to hit the Sign Out button everywhere and then come back here to set up 2FA.
You’ve probably already verified your email account if you’ve been playing League of Legends for a while, so all you need to do is hit Enable in the Email section. This will send an email to your address that just requires you to click the link to verify that you want to activate two-factor authentication.
Going forward, every time you log into your Riot account, you’ll receive an email with a six-digit code that you’ll need to enter to gain access to your content. If you’re on a PC that you trust no one else will access, you can click the Stay signed in box to skip this step on your device only.
