League of Legends Patch 13.1 Preview: Aatrox and Yuumi nerfs

It’s a new year, and you know what that means; a preview of League of Legends patch 13.1. You’ll be glad to hear feisty furball Yuumi is under the microscope once again, as is top lane tyrant Aatrox, with Riot stating that their mission is to deal with some of the “solo queue outliers.” of the MOBA.

A number of different items will also see changes, specifically Jak’Sho, The Protean, who has become a must-have item for brawler-style champions like Renekton and Irelia.

“We’re also improving a number of underpowered items and tweaking Jak’Sho to make it less valuable to fighters,” writes designer Ezra ‘Phlox’ Lynn. The item has also played a key role in a collection of Mordekaiser builds, so its changes along with the patch’s proposed nerfs may bring the iron-clad threat down a few notches. Me, as a soft ADC and support player, and very happy to hear that.

Speaking of supports, one of the headlines for this patch is yet another series of nerfs to Yuumi, which stem from the fact that she is “still very banned”. While it’s unknown what those changes are yet, it’s likely they’ll be factored into the highly anticipated League of Legends Yuumi redesign that we know is slated for later this year.
