Lizzo honors activists in powerful speech at the 2022 People’s Choice Awards

In one of the main moments of the People’s Choice Awards 2022which took place last Tuesday, 6, lizzo received the award Champion Award due to her impact in both music and television, as well as being known for her fight for diversity and inclusion. In the acceptance speech, the singer paid tribute to activists.

Onstage, the artist explained how she always uses her platform and visibility to “amplify marginalized voices” before bringing in several activists. “Tonight, I’m sharing in that honor,” she stated. “Make noise for the people, people. These are all activists and people I think deserve to be highlighted.”
