Pokémon GO Community Day: Slowpoke, exclusives and more

How do you know, Community Day is a monthly event in Pokémon GOwhich focuses on a specific Pokémon, with improved wild spawns, increased chances of shine, exclusive moves when it evolves, and bonuses like extended incense duration.

These events are only three hours long and always take place on the weekend, so most players can participate. They are some of the most popular events on the Pokémon GO calendar along with Spotlight Hours.

That is why here we will share all the information you need to know to get the most out of the event, the Community Day event of March 2023, starring slow poke and Galarian Slowpoke.

Pokémon GO Community Day start date and time

The next Pokémon Go Community Day event will take place on Saturday, March 18, 2023, and will run from 2 pm to 5 pm each trainer’s local time. This time, the Community Day March 2023 headliners are Slowpoke and Galarian Slowpoke.

Which makes this the perfect opportunity to stock up on Slowpoke Candy and evolve a Slowbro, Slowking, Galarian Slowbro, and Galarian Slowking.

Shiny Slowpoke and Shiny Galarian Slowpoke

This month, Shiny Galarian Slowpoke will finally make its debut. In addition, you will have more chances to meet with Shiny Slowpoke and Shiny Galarian Slowpoke during this event.

Slowpoke’s exclusive move for Pokémon GO Community Day

Players who evolve a Slowpoke or Galarian Slowpoke during event hours (or up to five hours after) will gain an evolution that knows the water type Charged Move Surf. This event-exclusive charged move can be learned by all four potential Slowpoke and Galarian Slowpoke evolutions.

Pokémon GO Slowpoke Community Day Bonuses

The following bonuses will be in effect during the March Community Day event hours:

  • 3x XP and 2x Candy for catching Pokémon.
  • Double the chance for Trainers level 31 and above to receive Candy XL when catching Pokémon.
  • Bait Modules and Incense activated during the event will last for three hours.
  • Trades will require 50% less Stardust.
  • An additional special exchange can be made for a maximum of two per day.
  • Take some snapshots during Community Day for a surprise!
  • Slowpoke appears in 4-star raids after Community Day ends

Although Slowpoke Community Day ends at 5:00 PM, Trainers will be able to enjoy special 4-Star Raids featuring Slowpoke and Galarian Slowpoke until 10:00 PM.

If you win one of these Raid Battlesadditional Slowpoke and Galarian Slowpoke will spawn around the Gym that staged the Raid for the next 30 minutes.

Please note that these additional 4-star raids cannot be accessed with Remote Raid Passes, so you will need to attend in person.

How to prepare for Pokémon GO Community Day

If you are going to participate in a Community Day, there are a few things you can do to prepare and get the most out of the event:

  • Buy an incense to use that day, as they will last longer than usual.
  • Save any lure modules you have as they will last for three hours during the event.
  • Stock up on lots of Ultra Balls so you can catch a lot of the main Pokemon.
  • Transfer any unwanted Pokémon in advance so you have room for all the catches you’ll make.
  • Check out the bonuses that run during the event so you can take advantage of them.
  • There will also be a ticket for the March Community Day special research story, Field Notes: Slow and Slower, available for purchase in the in-game store closer to the event date.

Pokémon GO Slowpoke Community Day Timed Research

Timed Research will be available from 2:00 pm to 10:00 pm during Slowpoke Community Day. Completing this will reward you with four King’s Rocks to help you evolve your Slowpoke. There will also be a set of event-exclusive Field Research tasks with rewards including King’s Rocks, Stardust, Ultra Balls, and more.
