Valdepeñas will celebrate Women’s Day with a commemorative act and the ‘Woman 2023’ awards

Valdepeñas will celebrate International Women’s Day on March 8, with a series of activities including a commemorative act and the delivery of ‘Mujer 2023’ awards.

The Councilor for Equality, Inmaculada Pacheco, announced this morning that the program will open on March 8 at the commemorative event, which will take place in the Plaza de España at 12:00. An act that is carried out jointly with the Local Women’s Council of Valdepeñas and that will include the reading of the manifesto by Patricia Pines Lérida, a young woman with disabilities.

On the other hand, on March 9, at 7:30 p.m., the La Confianza Cultural Center will host the institutional act where the ‘Woman 2023’ awards will be delivered. Pacheco specified that “we are going to honor four profiles in work by and for women. In the cultural area, Gloria Martínez de Carnero; in the business area, Amelia Badillo Dotor; in the social area, Rosa María García, president of In Género; and in collectives to the action group of Amnesty International of Valdepeñas”. At the same ceremony, the prizes for the ‘Stories for equality’ contest will be awarded, in which high school and high school students from the municipality have participated.

In addition, on March 14 the La Confianza Cultural Center will accommodate, at 7:00 p.m., the zarzuela and opera concert ‘Música y Mujer’, and on April 11 and 18 the Social Services Center will offer the perspective workshop of gender and empowerment ‘Create, believe and grow’, which will be held from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. On March 8, the Department of Equality will also carry out a special program on Onda Cero.
